Creating a Beautiful Life

I’ve just started two new things in my life.  I believe they will improve my quality of life and also help to become more sustainable.  Those two things are juicing and composting. My goal is to help reduce the trash filling up our landfills, grow my own food, and feel better while doing both.  I welcome you to join me on the journey.

In the following weeks I’ll be posting my journey here and welcome your thoughts and comments too.  Subscribe to this blog and check back often for ideas and tips.  Together we can create a beautiful life.

It's A Beautiful LIFE
It’s A Beautiful LIFE

Who said being a Christian is boring?

Sitting here this morning, after looking at my Facebook page, I am thanking God for my full life.  Who ever said being a Christian was boring must not have been plugged into loving, and serving him fully.

I have found that when you do Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God…” you always will have a full life.  What is the Kingdom of God about you may ask?  The Kingdom of God is about PEOPLE.  Loving people.  Serving people.  Giving to people.  When we all leave this earth the only thing that will leave a lasting impression is the people-the relationships- we were in.

I know you may be thinking, but I don’t like people.  I can relate to that.  At one time I too didn’t like people, and do you know what I found?  I didn’t love myself.  You can’t give what you don’t have.  You can’t love people if you don’t love yourself.  Jesus said the whole Bible hangs on these two commandments; “Love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as you love yourself.

The reason we don’t love ourselves is because we don’t really know who we are.  We don’t know what our idendity is or our purpose here on earth.  Living a self-centered life can get old fast, and needless to say lonely.  So, love yourself, love your people and the love of God will overflow into your life-and your life will never be boring.
